Course Description:

In science class we will be focusing in reviewing concepts in ALL fields of science: Earth, Life, Physical, Environmental.  In addition we will be preparing for the STAAR test which will be taken in 8th grade.  We will complete assignments using websites such as Gimkit, Generation Genius, Quizziz and Blooket.  Students will be involved in lab procedures and investigations throughout the year.  

Textbook: Pearson SAAVAS

Supplies: 

Composition Book (100 Sheets)

Pocket Folder 

Pencil or Pen 

 

Grades:

Grades will be given at the end of the six weeks according to school policy.  Progress reports will be issued during the third week of the six weeks.  Students will be graded in different ways:  daily grades, projects and tests.  Percentages are as follow:

Daily Grades (Class work): 50%

Tests: 50%

 

Class Assignments/Homework:

It is the student’s responsibility to ask for, to complete and to turn in work for excused absences. All students are required to participate with choral reading, writing assignments, reading assignments, and group projects.
